What is a Land Trust?

The Georgia-Alabama Land Trust is a non-profit organization that works to conserve land and natural resources.

Land trusts are community-, state- or region-based and deeply connected to local needs. We are well-equipped to identify land that offers critical natural habitat as well as land that offers recreational, agricultural and other conservation value.

As part of our mission to protect land for current and future generations, the Georgia-Alabama Land Trust is dedicated to:

Meeting the landowner’s needs while maintaining the land’s conservation values

Providing insight into conservation values and conservation easements

Stewarding the land in perpetuity
