Originally from West Palm Beach, FL, Jeff’s love for the outdoors began as a child where he spent much of his time growing up snorkeling and kayaking throughout the waters of South Florida. After moving to Birmingham, AL to attend Samford University in 2014, Jeff would go on to graduate with his Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, with minors in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Environmental Studies in 2018. After graduating, Jeff spent that summer living in the Cook Islands in the South Pacific interning with an environmental research group, where he would conduct biological surveys and record/develop GIS data for publication. After working in the private sector as a GIS analyst for the past several years, Jeff returned to school where he earned his Master of Science degree in Environmental Health, Policy, and Management from Samford University in 2021. During his graduate career, Jeff’s research revolved around understanding how crowd-sourced data platforms such as social media can aid wildlife management strategies in Alabama. In his free time, Jeff enjoys mountain biking, backpacking, and travelling.
